Rwanda Volunteer NetworkAfrica, Rwanda

The Rwanda Volunteer Network was founded in 2014 by a group of volunteers who saw in volunteering a means of making connections across countries and cultures. It is a nascent organization and has only three paid staff and 17 volunteers across the country working in Youth, Education, Secure livelihoods, Organizational Volunteer Capacity Building and Social Inclusion programs. V-NET-Rwanda is a nationally based organisation that use volunteers and volunteer involving organisations 'To contribute to the integral development of the country by promoting the spirit of volunteering at the heart of the Rwandan population'.

Sekamana ArchimedeExecutive Director

Mr. SEKAMANA Archimede, Rwanda Volunteer Network Current Executive Director, is an awards winner (IAVE 2011 Winner of Best Volunteer Involving Project of the Year in Singapore) and passionate about promoting youth volunteerism in Africa and in Rwanda in particular. He has developed his specialty in youth development programs and volunteer management throughout his 27 years of work Experience career. He has about 27 years of combined robust voluntary and professional experience in Volunteer promotion programs, volunteer community based organizations development, proposal development, gender and social justice, program quality improvement, youth program monitoring and evaluation, and advocacy campaign organization in Rwanda and in Africa (Zambia, Uganda, Burundi and Tanzania) where he worked. As a strong volunteer promoter, He has been to the forefront as member on National Steering Committee on IVD celebrations to the development of National Volunteer policy since 2001 and has received various training in Volunteer Management and Projects Management by VSO Bahaginan In Phillipines, IAVE, Global Pro Bono, Good Deeds etc. And currently, He is Country Leader of Good Deeds Day and part of International Association for Volunteer Effort in his country (www.iave.org), Member of Global Pro Bono Network and various national, regional and international networks. He has been working and taking part of various youth programs in NGOs and forums at national and international level. He has knowledge and exposure to the realities of young people in AFRICA and volunteerism.
