Jitolee Good Friends FoundationNairobi, Kenya

Jitolee Good Friends Foundation is a non-profit, non-political organization whose main objective is to create mutual collaborations and partnerships to support communities in realizing sustainable development. We are keen on championing for development through Volunteering in all its cross-cutting means of implementation. We intend to support our National development goals and the overarching Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The journey to the birth of Jitolee Good Friends Foundation started in the year 2014 as a small project founded, run and managed by Fredrick Sadia as a loose entity which mobilized friends and people of goodwill to occasionally assist where real need was felt. With the believe that no one is poor to give and none is rich to receive, Fred continued in his quest to serve both urban and rural youth and children.

In 2019, he started the process to get the initiative registered. Fast forward into 2020 and Covid-19 Pandemic engulfed the world. Fred soon reached out to friends and a project was started to support in Covid-19 response. The Project was called “Good Friends Response Initiative.” This project targeted informal settlements in Nairobi and Rural areas in Siaya County. Through kind support from friends in Kenya and abroad, assorted help were directed to these communities to mitigate the dire impacts of Covid-19.

At the end 2022, once again, the process of legal registration began. Finally, in January 2024, a combination of patriotism, passion and service to humanity resulted into the official registration of the organization by the Government of Kenya at the Office of the Registrar of Societies, with the Legal Official Names: Jitolee Good Friends Foundation. “Jitolee” is Swahili word that can mean to Volunteer, to commit to a positive cause, to immerse oneself in an act that takes sacrifice for the betterment of people and communities.
